Thats what i said...lol...These things are priced at such a nice nice price...Just rebuild them once you get them and you got a good turbo...I'm probably going with the HX35...But i really wanna see specs on these far as exhaust housing is concerned....Cuz i'm only shooting for shootn' for 300 ish out of the thing...Thats not to much to ask for. Plus its going into RB20...So....Anyone got MAPS on these things?

HEY ZENKICAM u live in GA? We should meet up one day talk RB's lol...Dont wanna sound like a wierdo but i like gaining knowledge on them...U go to any meets in GA?

550cc will get you there, but i know you will be more greedy w/ power lol i would jjust go straight to 72lb injectors; price isn't much different and later you don't have to worry about upgrading injectors again. the hx35 should get you there. the 12cm housing will boost nice and early on the rb25.

Yeah i'm on 240atlanta...Buts its not really my cup of tea...Forums are suppose to be placing where you learn information and share ways of doing things with people...And just relate and meet and talk....240 atlanta is to much relate and talk...Not very informative...Dont get me wrong its some people on there who are a great deal of help and who know there 240 ****...Thats what forums are about improving your knowledge of ours cars and the things we can do to them and meeting people and making new cool friends...

Far as this turbo...Anybody got any recommendations for me concerning If the Hx35 is good for what goal i'm shooting for (290 to 330HP)?

i was reading on there site, that the hx35 was like good for 280hp. i guess that means the turbo itself not engine plus turbo. so 280 over stock hp would be around 610? cause arent, the HP ranges on garretts site, engine +turbo HP? ive always went by that. British measurements are wierd lol.

that's just the power on stock boost of the orginal vehicle. the hx35 can put out up to 500hp, but that's on 30+psi.
here's a dyno of a VR4 with this same turbo

cool hopefully hed still check the thread, seeing it was created back in july i asked him how much psi.. but seeing the turbo is good for 600, id say the max psi would prolly be less than 30.. maybe 18 or 20?

The 280hp is what it'll make on a diesel revving to 3k rpm. I don't think anybody has any real maps for this thing, but they do like boost. Then again, so do the Garret GT series. I can tell you, I making a butt dyno 430-450rwhp with my HX35/40 at 1.1 bar. I normally run 1.5 bar though.

some are. if you are running high boost, the internal gate creeps. you 're better off running external gate to hold that boost pressure down.

its not that i was 'anti holset'. i'd just never heard of them before. i was set on a GT3076R. but i can make the same power, for WAY cheaper with the holset. still new to me. but they sound like a hell of a deal.

yeah, they are way awesome for the price, only thing im concerned with is i want more response than i want power, because I want to see how it will hold up drifting. ill probably will get a HX35 no matter what but i want to try out the HY out first. providing i can find the one.

whats the story on hooking the oil system up, im guessing it needs new fittings. Also im guessing you had to make a custom dumpipe right?

my hx52 has the feed and return flange bolt pattern are standard like the garrett's. if i remember the hx35 / 40 has the thread on the inlet hole, 12MM-1.5
and the return has the standard flange

LOL, that's me, I just put that up the other day. Thier are two up with the holset on the car. Here is the other

http://videos.streetfire.net/v...0.htm

All the others are with the TO4e. I was going to put it up here when I got a new dyno sheet to go along with it. Might dyno this weekend.

On a side note, do you see how much crap I get from domestic guys and ricers? I make fun of some of the Honda guys, so I kinda expected some of those. Some of the domestic guys don't even believe I can make that kinda HP though. I'm a Mustang guy but I was never that bad!

yea i was just talking to my dad about how much crap you were getting.. its rediculous and retarded... Domestic guys know nothing whatsoever about tuning except that cams will add 100hp, and that there coke bottle almost has as much liters as my "whole" engine.. "uhhhhuuhhh" /Redneck laugh...... i know, i used to be into stangs to, and id always question my friends, on why they had to hate, and thats one of the reasons i got out of them.. but sorry i had to spring the surprise of the videos early.. btw your girlfriend is beautiful

Thanks man! That girl is back in the states now BTW, so maybe you'll bump into here LOL

Like I said on there and on here, I consider myself a domestic guy, but there is no denieing what these motors can do. I think I would be pretty hard pressed to get a stock 5.0 that never had the heads/intake off get to over 500hp. Could be wrong (been aways from 'stangs for a while). Now the new 4.6's and 5.4's are a different. I digress..........

I'll try and take a vid of starting below boost in each gear so you guys can see the spool time in each gear after work today. I wonder what kind of crap I'll get ffrom people for that vid

holy crap all doubts removed cause of those vids =D hx35 has 100% sold me. then do the 40 hybrid later on when i can afford a PFC to help with those power levels.

feel sorry for garret, they are going to have fewer gt sales now lol. but thats assuming people do research... lol

Yeah, sure. Not much to brag on mods wise though. BTW, I think it's so loud because it's only a 38mm wastegate trying to deal with that much hp and only a T3 flange. You can hear the difference from the TO4e pretty easy.

R32 GTSt with.....
-RB25 motor and tranny
-stock headgasket
-stock cams
-stock intake mani/TB
-Turbo back exhaust
-HKS cast (log) style manifold & HKS 38mm wastegate (no boost creep surprisingly enough)
-HX35/40 hybrid turbo @ 1.5 bar (22psi)
-chinese FMIC
-nismo 740cc inj
-Power FC (man was that a pain in the *** to find)
-Z32 AFM (up at like 4915mv)
Sard FPR
Walbro 255HP

That's about it drivetrain wise. I assume you guys don't want to know all the gay stuff like what BOV and boost controller and crap.

I might try and grey market the car back in a couple years, I dunno. It's like $10K

cool thanks.

so i guess since your calling it gay you dont have an electronic boost controller of any kind, just a mechanical?

also, if you get time it would be cool to see like 3rd 4th and 5th pull vids, as well as a normal non launched run from a dead stop. im sure everyone would really like to see but thats all if you are really bored, have time and want more praise lol

what are you shifting at, cant really tell?, guessing like 7000+ range

To clarify this: Our work truck ('98 Ram 2500) has 300k mi on it still running the original hx35 and putting down 425whp on it with no problems whatsoever. Diesel performance is a completely different ballgame, but I will say that the hx35 flows out at approx 40psi on the 5.9 Cummins with supporting fuel...

It's a Blitz Dual SBC electronic boost controller, it just sucks. I have to set the boost each time I go out when the weather changes. I shift around 7.7k according to the PFC controller, but the tach say 8k. I'll try and get some vids up soon of just the spool time, but it's raining here and it'll usually do that a few days in a row here I'll crack the wastegate in 5th, but I'm not running it out. No good places to do that kinda speed here. I know I'm probably real close to blowing it up, but my tuner is REALLY good I guess.

I've heard of the DSM guys making 500+hp with HX35's, they just had to run really high boost (like the Garrett GT series). Somebody needs to try and bolt this thing on to a stock mani and see if it clears everything. I know the HX35/40 won't, but the straight 35 might.

not really overkill cause with 650cc's at a 90% duty cycle, at a .6 B.S.F.C and 530 hp to the flywheel roughly 450whp, your injectors are at a static flow rate of 618cc, thats close to starving... and thats at 90% duty cycle, 80% is the suggested duty cycle.. if you really wanna play it save 850's are not out of the ballpark for 500whp

but also safley upping the FP, will squeeze a bit mor cc's out of your injectors

PS. At a 80% duty, to have roughly 450whp, you would need at least 740cc's... so there you go, maybe Chris is running at a 80%?

go here and put in your power goal and it will calculate the estimate size injector you will need. http://www.rceng.com/technical.aspx

it's not a good idea to run over 80% duty cycle, if there's a surge in pressure, you injector will stuck open. = blown engine.

oh, i know, i got one of the highest experience tuner's in georgia and or the whole south east, that is about 5 miles away... his named Ed Senf, he's is the master tuner for Balanced Performance in Sugar Hill Ga.. They get people coming in there as far as Kentucky and the whole GA Quad state (Sp?) area just to get him to tune there car lol.

they have a r33 GTR there right now they are doing for the guy, here is the link to it... (none of the stuff is updated though...)

http://www.balancedperformance.com/p3_skyline.html

right now, as of today when i stopped by, he now has a RB30DETT, with Twin GT30's (one of the GT30's is screwed..) and hes making 400rwhp, in the next couple of weeks he is upgrading to twin gt35's and is looking for 1000whp.. that car is a beast, has a custom 3.5 or 4 inch exhaust with like a 5.5 inch tip, my god is it a beast......

along with a custom high flow fuel pump, and a NX system on it.. if i would have taken my camera today i wouldve got pics on it, all i got are cell phone pics..
